1. Information we collect

Birth information

When you calculate a birth chart or relationship chart, you may provide:

• birth date
• birth time
• whether your exact birth time is known
• birth place
• location coordinates and timezone derived from the birth place

We use this information to calculate your chart, including planetary positions, houses, aspects, and other chart data.

If you indicate that you do not know your exact birth time, we preserve that information rather than treating an estimated time as your actual birth time.

Saved people and relationship data

If you use Compatibility or Synastry features, you may enter birth information for another person.

This information is stored as a saved profile associated with your account or anonymous session. It does not create an account for that person and is not made public automatically.

Account information

If you choose to create or use an account, we may receive:

• email address
• name
• profile image
• authentication provider information

For example, if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only the account information made available through that provider and necessary to authenticate you.

Charts and relationships

We may store:

• calculated birth charts
• saved profiles
• Synastry and compatibility results
• composite chart data
• saved readings
• chart and relationship identifiers

These records allow you to return to your charts without entering the same birth information again.

Ask Your Chart and Ask About Us

If you use our AI-assisted question features, we process:

• the questions you submit
• relevant chart or relationship data used to answer them
• conversation history when the feature is saved

These features are designed to answer questions using your calculated astrology data rather than only generic zodiac information.

Purchases

If you purchase a reading or another paid feature, we may store:

• product purchased
• transaction identifier
• payment status
• purchase date
• the chart or relationship associated with the purchase

Payment card information is processed by our payment provider and is not stored directly by GetBirthChart unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Technical and usage information

We may automatically collect limited technical information such as:

• browser and device type
• approximate location derived from IP address
• referring page or traffic source
• pages visited
• feature usage
• errors and performance information

We use this information to operate, secure, understand, and improve the service.

2. How we use your information

• calculate Compatibility and Synastry

• provide Ask Your Chart and Ask About Us
• save charts, people, and relationships

We do not use birth information to make decisions about employment, credit, insurance, housing, medical treatment, or other high-impact decisions.

3. Astrology and AI

GetBirthChart presents astrology as a reflective framework.

AI-assisted interpretations are generated using astrology data calculated from the information you provide. They are intended for personal exploration and should not be treated as scientific predictions, professional advice, or guarantees about future events.

We may use third-party technology providers to process AI requests. Where we do so, we provide only the information reasonably necessary to perform the requested feature.

4. Anonymous use

You do not need an account to use our basic birth chart or Compatibility calculators.

When you use the service without signing in, we may create an anonymous session so that your chart or relationship can remain available during your visit.

If you later sign in, charts and other data associated with that anonymous session may be transferred to your account so you do not lose your work.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies for:

• authentication
• anonymous sessions
• security
• remembering preferences
• measuring product usage and performance

Essential cookies are required for features such as sign-in and saved sessions.

Where required by law, non-essential analytics or similar technologies will be used according to your consent choices.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your birth chart data.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate GetBirthChart, such as providers for:

• cloud hosting and databases
• authentication
• email delivery
• AI processing
• payments
• analytics and error monitoring

These providers receive information only as needed to perform services on our behalf.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where reasonably necessary to protect GetBirthChart, our users, or others from fraud, abuse, security threats, or illegal activity.

7. Your charts are private by default

Saved birth charts and relationship charts are private by default.

They are not automatically:

• published publicly
• added to search engine indexes
• shown to other GetBirthChart users

If GetBirthChart offers sharing features, sharing must be initiated explicitly by you.

Anyone who receives a share link may be able to view the information made available through that link, so share links should be treated accordingly.

8. Data about other people

Compatibility and Synastry features allow you to enter birth information for another person.

Please only provide information that you are reasonably permitted to use.

A saved person is not treated as a registered GetBirthChart user, and their information is not made public simply because you save it.

You can delete saved people and relationship data from your account.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, fulfill purchases, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service.

Anonymous data may be deleted after a period of inactivity.

When you delete a chart, relationship, or account, we will delete or anonymize associated information where reasonably possible, subject to limited information we may need to retain for legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or transaction-record requirements.

This follows the general data-minimization and retention principles emphasized by privacy regulators.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You should protect access to your email account and any authentication provider you use to sign in.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including the right to:

• access personal information we hold about you
• correct inaccurate information
• delete certain information
• request a copy of your data
• object to or restrict certain processing
• withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
• opt out of certain uses or disclosures where applicable

California privacy law provides rights including notice about collected personal information and, where applicable, access, deletion, correction, and opt-out rights. GDPR likewise provides rights including access, rectification and erasure, subject to applicable conditions.

You may be able to exercise many of these controls directly through your GetBirthChart account.

12. International users

GetBirthChart may be operated and supported using service providers located in different countries.

As a result, information may be processed outside the country where you live.

Where required, we use appropriate mechanisms for international transfers of personal information.

13. Children's privacy

GetBirthChart is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If we learn that information was collected from a child where parental consent or another legal requirement applies, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

In the United States, COPPA imposes specific requirements on online services directed to children under 13 or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as GetBirthChart changes.

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
