What information is needed for a birth chart?
A birth chart calculator needs your birth date, birthplace, and ideally an exact birth time. Date and place establish planetary positions; time unlocks Rising sign, houses and chart angles.
Why is birth time important?
Birth time determines the Ascendant (Rising sign), the house cusps and the four chart angles. Those layers move quickly — about every two hours for the Rising sign — so an accurate clock time matters.
Can I calculate a birth chart without birth time?
Yes. You can still calculate most planetary positions without an exact birth time. Rising sign, houses and chart angles require an accurate time, so GetBirthChart leaves them out rather than guessing.
Why is birthplace needed?
