What we build

GetBirthChart is a tool first. At its centre is a calculation engine that computes charts from professional ephemeris data, and a set of tools and reference pages built around it: the birth chart calculator, focused calculators for the big three and moon and rising signs, and educational pages on the signs, planets, houses and aspects.

How we calculate charts

Astronomy is handled by a dedicated engine, not approximated in your browser. Local birth time is converted to Universal Time using the IANA timezone database, planetary positions come from professional ephemeris data, and houses and aspects are derived from there. Our methodology and data sources pages document the details.

Our philosophy on astrology

We treat astrology as a reflective language — a structured way to think about yourself — not as a science or a prediction of what must happen. We avoid fear-based and deterministic astrology, and we describe placements as tendencies you may recognise and can work with.

Written interpretation is generated with AI that is restricted to the facts of your own chart. The engine calculates; the interpretation synthesises meaning from what it calculated.

Reference content on GetBirthChart is written and maintained by the GetBirthChart editorial team and reviewed before publication. We do not invent astrologer identities or professional credentials, and we do not publish fabricated reviews or statistics.
